Building a Smart Foundation

Getting the core of your business in place doesn’t require a massive investment. Here’s a great approach to getting the job done.

  • Learn how Internet marketing works on a holistic, big picture level. You need to hear, straight from the proverbial horse’s mouth, how things fit together and what really works.
  • Make traffic a top priority. Traffic is one of the three core needs mentioned above. It’s also the most important one you’ll address. Until you have adequate traffic, you won’t be able to find out if your products are attractive or if your copy is converting. You need as much traffic as you can get–and you need it quickly.
  • Discover a continuing source of support and guidance. An ebook can be great. Instructional videos can really help. However, there’s nothing like developing an ongoing connection with a coach or mentor who has a history of success and a willingness to show you the ropes. Quality ongoing coaching makes the learning curve less steep and prevents you from wasting time, energy and resources on things you don’t need.
  • Don’t overexpose yourself. You need to build your foundation without putting too much of your limited resources at risk. Look for opportunities to secure the right information at a reasonable price. Find a small business coaching opportunity that doesn’t require a fat up-front commitment and that doesn’t lock you into a multi-month contract.
